sfSoundSeries: 2006 Season

Our 2006 season includes the latest edition of the San Francisco Tape Music Festival (at ODC Theater, January 27-29, 2006), and a brief East Coast tour, with stops at Merkin Hall in New York City (February 23, 2006) and a residency and concert at Wesleyan University (February 24, 2006). We'll also continue our Verge Residency at ODC Theater -- the first concert (on Monday, November 21, 2005 at 8 pm) features music by Milton Babbitt, David Bithell, and Richard Miller, with an additional evening of music on February 18, 2006 as part of the Instant Message Improvisation Festival. Finally, we join up with Trinity Chamber Concerts to present an evening of music on May 6, 2006.

In memoriam Richard Miller (1931-2004): we present his Corona/Penumbra for clarinet and percussion, alongside compositions by Milton Babbitt, David Bithell, and the sfSoundGroup.

The return of the San Francisco Tape Music Festival: new and classic audio art presented over a sixteen-channel loudspeaker system, featuring music by Marc Ainger, Herbert Brün, Trevor Wishart, Tetsu Inoue and Carl Stone, Horacio Vaggione, Jackson MacLow, Maggi Payne, Toru Takemitsu, Louis and Bebe Barron, Curtis Roads, and many more. Plus a full evening of music by French composer Luc Ferrari (1929-2005).
